IMPROVEMENTS IN WINDOWS UPDATES 11
Microsoft has made it available a new update for Windows 11 via the Dev channel, which brings the operating system to version 22579, introducing a long series of improvements. The main novelty concerns the possibility to assign a name to the application folders through the Start Menu, as well as new animations for touchscreens and the simplification of gestures to call up the Start Menu.
WINDOWS 11 INSIDER BUILD 22579: THE COMPLETE AND OFFICIAL CHANGELOG
Complete changelog translated into Italian:
- We are introducing a new policy so that IT administrators can exclude removable USB drives from BitLocker encryption. This will solve the problem of automatic or accidental encryption of the storage integrated in specialized devices such as video cameras, voice recorders, conference systems, medical devices and many others. When this policy is enabled, you will not be able to encrypt the storage that is in the exclusion list and you will not be prompted for encryption if you connect that storage to a device while the "Deny write access to removable drives not protected by BitLocker" policy is enabled on it. So far this policy can only be configured via custom MDM OMA-URI.
- As some insiders have noted, along with our updated print queue experience, we have also made an update so that win32 apps that use CPrintDialog to display the print dialog now show our modern print dialog. Moreover, this window automatically detects local network printers. If you choose a new printer, this will be installed without you having to access the Settings. Send feedback on your printing experiences in Devices and Drivers > Print in the feedback hub.
- We're reverting to the redesign of the Open With dialog that started with the build 22567 to the previous design. We plan to restore it in the future after fixing some performance issues identified by Windows Insider. Thanks for your feedback!
- To ensure that users are still able to quickly log into the console if Windows Terminal has been uninstalled, we are updating the WIN menu + X to point to Windows PowerShell. If you have Windows Terminal installed and want Windows PowerShell to open in Windows Terminal, we recommend that you go to Settings > Privacy and security > For developers and set Windows Terminal as the default terminal app.
